As evidence from this South Park episode...

Last night Craig called me out to the garage because he had just downloaded
Hickey live at Hap's from mattyluv.com
I guess that was nearly 9 years ago now. (!!!) It was one of Hickey's first
shows. You should go to that site and listen to it. It is a classic. At the
time I was naive enough to think that I could bring real punk rock out to
Pleasanton. That night a college radio station started a rumor that White
Zombie would be playing a surprise show at Hap's, that's where all those White
Zombie refferences came from. It was a hostile crowd. A combination of cowboys
and pissed off college kids who came to see White Zombie. Matty fused the
fire. I remember that night there were two black girls from Dublin who seemed
to be the only two people bent on having a good time. I had never seen them
before, but I was thankful for them. One of them ended up announcing the band,
and they were on the Hickey bandwagon from the beginning. The rest of the
crowd had to be won over. Several songs into the show the only person not
on the bandwagon was some politically correct college girl from Berkeley.
I think she was especially upset by Matty's "flesh" diatribe, she
tried drenching Matty in beer and whiskey but that didn't work so she threw
tabasco sauce in his eyes (which is akin to pepper spray). From the audio
recording it's hard to tell what is going on, but mayhem ensued. I remember
Aesop picking up a pool stick. The whole scene just became more surreal. Donna,
the bar owner, had supplied the tabasco sauce and she was trying to make amends.
Two other girls told Donna that whipped cream could counter-act the effects
of the tabasco sauce and she gave them a can. I was deep in an alcohol fog,
but I still have an image of Matty sitting at the bar, blind, and two girls
covering his naked torso with whipped cream. At this point he still wasn't
very happy and wandered off. According to my friend J.D. who ended up walking
into the back kitchen about 10 minutes later, Matty was having sex with the
two girls from Dublin. Three other bands played that night, but no one remembers
who they were. From that point on, J.D. considered Matty Luv a rock n' roll
god.
